Our Story
Ulch Mulch began in 2019 when founder Drew Ulch was a student at Vestavia Hills High School. Looking for a way to earn money while balancing classes and sports, Drew started the business with just a push mower and a handful of small jobs. During the Covid years, he dedicated more time to the work, rapidly sharpening his skills and taking on more projects.
What began as a small venture has evolved into a dedicated team of professionals serving the Birmingham community with a shared belief: details matter. We treat every property with the same care we would give our own, an approach that has earned us the lasting trust of homeowners, builders, and designers. Our goal is simple: deliver clean, honest work that perfecty reflects the vision of the people we serve.
Our Philosophy: Installation First
We are proudly an “installation-first” company. Because we do not offer in-house landscape design services, we operate within a bid-build process that allows professional architects and landscape designers to do what they do best. We view ourselves as a reliable, professional extension of the design team, focusing exclusively on bringing their plans to life with intention, craftsmanship, and precision.
Whether we are utilizing our in-house stone masons for structural hardscapes, or our irrigation and lighting technicians for clean installations, every job brings a new challenge we are eager to take on.
